Secularism in India has flourished, simply because Hindus are in majority. The freedom for any individual to practise their respective religion, non-interference of the State in day-to-day matters, etc is the basis of secularism and that is fully and widely prevalent in India today.

A quick comparison to India's neighbors will demonstrate that Muslims in India are doing far better than their counterparts in Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc. who would rather migrate into India now given the benefits Muslims (and other minorities) enjoy in India. [Note: "Hindoo" was a term used by ignorant Europeans and has long been abandoned since mid 1800s and it is recommended to use Hindu instead]
